Whether you are a community member, parent, or distant relative there are a number of ways that you can keep up with the events of the Band. A few of these are explained on this page. We encourage you to get involved!
Twitter is a free communication service that allows an unlimited number of people to follow the short messages of its users. By setting up a free Twitter account here, you then will have access to three information streams regarding the Bear River Bands. It is easy to follow these messages through Twitters website, or on your smartphone (which will likely have a built-in app for this). You may also choose to have specific users' messages come directly to you as a text (SMS) message to your cell phone. (Use this option sparingly or you may end up with more texts than you can handle. - This is easy to change in the Twitter settings).
The Twitter ID @BearRiverMusic has been set up with the community member not directly involved with the band in mind. The stream of updates that you will receive by following @BearRiverMusic will be regarding upcoming performance information both on campus and away for all bands and choirs at Bear River. Keep in touch with Jazz Band, Jazz Unlimited, Men's Chorus, Starlite Express, Symphonic Band, Women's Chorus, & Women's Ensemble. This is a great way to make sure that you do not miss a performance! The Twitter ID @BearRiverBands has been set up for members of the bands and their parents. The stream of updates that you will receive by following @BearRiverBands will have information relevant to musician report times, reminders about rehearsals, or last minute updates. Once followed, this Twitter stream should be set to send a text message so that the important messages will get to you right away! The Twitter ID @MrAhrens is the private Twitter account of Band Director David Ahrens. The stream of updates that you will receive by following @MrAhrens will be either related directly to Music Education (directed to the large Music Ed community on Twitter) or Mr. Ahrens' personal updates. This account is not directly related to Bear River, but you may find it interesting to follow. You should not set this account to send a text message because of the large number of updates daily.
Like the Bear River Bands Facebook Page to be reminded on Facebook of upcoming events, interact with other group members, share pictures and videos.
A collection of pictures taken at a variety of band events over the past few years can be found on our Google Photos (Picasa) Page. If you have pictures you would like to submit, please email Mr. Ahrens for directions. Most images on this site are high quality and may be downloaded freely.
