COVERING OPERATIONAL COSTS

Band is an expensive program to offer. As you can see below, after subtracting our district allocation, our projected budget still has a deficit. A HUGE Thank You! to the Booster Board who was able to allocate money specifically to cover travel expenses this year, thus reducing the Symphonic Band and Color Guard requested donations considerably!

Music is a lifelong gift and does not end after high school. (See the "Why Study Music" link on the left of your screen). It is my goal that all BRHS Band members consider their time here as the best part of their high school career. Every student is entitled to the highest quality musical experience we can provide. For this reason, we need to recommend a operational expense donation to be able to offer our students these opportunities. Due to the effectiveness of our Booster Club, some costs have either gone down or been reallocated. This has allowed the suggested donation to be decreased this year.

The suggested donation for SYMPHONIC BAND is $70.00 per student.
($105.00 for families with two students in Symphonic Band).
The suggested donation for COLORGUARD is $40 plus the cost of a uniform -(TBD)..
(Students also in Symphonic Band only pay the price of the uniform).
The suggested donation for JAZZ BAND is $90.00 per student.
($135.00 for families with two students in Jazz Band).

Theses donations cover the basic expenses of the band program not provided by the school district or the the Band Boosters. This can be paid up front by writing a check payable to "BRHS Band" and submitting it with your signed Band Forms (Forms are due August 24) or by using the PayPal link below or on the front page of the website. To be properly credited, this should be submitted to Mr. Ahrens and not at the student store. As a thank you, one student band shirt (casual uniform) and one booster band shirt (to be worn when volunteering) will be given to each enrolled student. Additional shirts may be purchased for $10. We will be ordering hoodie sweatshirts this year as well for $30 each - you should receive an email to order. Any tour, honor band, or other costs including one time purchase of marching shoes are above and beyond this suggested donation amount. Money fundraised into a student's individual account will first be applied to the donation goal and then may be applied to other things (San Francisco Tour, honor band costs, other trips, etc.).

No student will be prevented from participating in the full scope of the Bear River Band program or be given special priveledges on the basis of donations made or not.
